There are two kinds of basic memory systems in any computer. The computer at first loads the data from the read only memory (ROM), which enables the proper function of the entire computer. This active Memory Card enables to give an access to the operating system immediately.

Whenever you open any application, it is immediately loaded in the RAM. Whenever you save a file and afterwards close that application, that file is immediately shifted from the RAM. The Laptop memory which is also known as the Notebook Memory performs the same function as mentioned above.
